College Football has never been more popular entering the 2014 season, and we are looking forward to a year in that appears to be wide open in terms of the BCS Championship. The Southeastern Conference continued their reign over the college football landscape last season, with the Alabama Crimson Tide winning their second national championship in three seasons. It's the sixth-straight BCS Championship victory for the SEC, and coming into 2014 the question on many of the experts and fans minds is whether or not there will be a team outside of the SEC to rise above and win a national title.
There is no question that the SEC once again brings a heap of talent and national championship contenders into the 2014 college football season, obviously highlighted by the two teams from the first-ever BCS Championship rematch in Alabama and LSU. With both the crimson Tide and Tiger bringing back the majority of their talent, they are certainly expected to play a contender. But we can't forget about some of those other SEC teams expected to contend as well, including Arkansas and Georgia. In fact, all four of these team enter 2014 as legitimate SEC title, and BCS title contenders.
But for those fans in the rest of the country who are sick of the SEC, who are the teams that we can look forward to at challenging the mighty conference for the throne?
Perhaps the team most excited to take advantage of the opportunity are the USC Trojans. Fresh off of probation, the Trojans are finally able to compete in a Pac 12 championship game and Bowl game after serving a two year suspension. And it really couldn't come at a better time, with USC poised to make a run at both behind senior quarterback Matt Barkley. The moment that Barkley announced on national television that he would return for his senior season, USC fans were already picturing their golden boy hoisting the BCS Championship trophy over his head in Miami at the end of the season. And they might be right. The Trojans won 10 games last season, and would have payed in the conference championship game if they had be eligible. But alas, that wasn't the case, and the Trojans were left hungry for the 2014 college football season.
But USC isn't the only team outside of the SEC that looks good coming into the 2014 college football season. The Oklahoma Sooners out of the Big 12 also return with a veteran quarterback with plenty of success. Landry Jones' returning to Norman means that the Sooners offense will continue to be one of the best in the nation. And with a defense that excelled and returns many starters, Bob Stoops has himself a contender yet again. And with the disappointment of falling from the No.1 preseason ranking last year, you got to believe the team has a renewed drive.
And then there are the mighty Florida State Seminoles out of the ACC, with the entire college football landscape wondering when they will reach their full potential. It's been predicted the last couple of seasons, but some bad losses keep preventing the Noles from getting back to national dominance. But with a veteran quarterback in E.J Manuel, and a defense that many believe might be the best in the nation, we just might see those predictions come to pass for the Seminoles in 2014.
It should be an exciting season this year, with many of the nation's top programs ripe with tradition ready to pounce and claim the BCS Championship. Or will it be a team no one is really talking about or expecting much from, circa Auburn in 2010. Who knows. But what we do know, is that the state of college football is strong, and come September, the fans will pack the stadiums with expectations making it their year.

To some surprise, it is not an SEC team favored by
The Big 12 conference expands this season and takes on a new look with the addition of West Virginia and TCU to the landscape. But it's still the usual suspects at the top of the list of favorites who expect to contend. The Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns will have a lot to say about who takes the Big 12 title this season, but then again so to will the new kids on the block. Or will we see a surprise team overtake them all to earn their way to a BCS game. See Our
The Clemson Tigers won their first ever ACC Championship game last season in 2011, and look to follow that up with a second-straight in 2014. But the Tigers fall behind Florida State and Virginia Tech in the order of merit in 2014. It should be an fun and exciting season in the ACC to see who emerges as the champion, and perhaps even a contender on the national stage. See Our
The USC Trojans appear to be the team at the forefront of the Pac 12 conference in college football for the 2014 college football season, but teams like Oregon and Stanford among others will try to state their claim to a title. The shackles are off the Trojans this season, with the potential for a Pac 12 title game and bowl appearance without sanctions. USC is the overall preseason favorite on the odds to win the 2014-13 BCS championship, so to say that the expectations are there might be a bit of an understatement. See Our
There is a new sheriff in town in the Big Ten, as Urban Meyer begins his reign over the Ohio State program. But will he be able to get the buckeyes atop the conference in just his first season? With Wisconsin, Michigan State and Michigan predicted to be contenders this season, along with Nebraska, the Big Ten is going to be highly competitive in 2014. It will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes perform this season, but their archrival Michigan is the team to beat coming into the year hands down. See Our
The Big East Conference lost the majority of their big time members, and are trying to regroup and get past it. It will be tough for the Big East to survive among the college football elite. On the national stage, not much is expected. It's Louisville who tops the list as the favorite to win the conference, with Cincinnati and South Florida not very far behind. But we can certainly see some surprises emerge from this conference in 2014. See Our
