2012 Louisville Cardinals Football Preview
The Louisville Cardinals might best be known for basketball on the major college sports stage, but they have actually been playing football since 1912. Louisville joined the Big East Conference in 2005, coming from conference USA. Located in Louisville, Kentucky, the Cardinals play in Papa John's Cardinal stadium which seats 55,000. Louisville has been to 16 bowl games, and won seven conference titles in their history. The move to the Big East certainly put Louisville football on the map in one of the BCS conferences. Louisville has won two Big East championships since joining the conference. The first was in 2006, with the second coming in 2011 as they tied atop the conference. Their only trip to a BCS Bowl game was in 2006 to the Orange Bowl. To date, there has not been a Heisman Trophy winner from Louisville.
2012 Louisville Cardinals Outlook
