2012 Syracuse Orange Football Preview

The Syracuse Orange play in the Big East conference, and have a rich history in college football. The Orange also play in one of the most unique venues in all of college football. The Carrier dome is one of the few domes in college football, which hosts nearly 60,000 to create a wild atmosphere. Syracuse has won one national championship back in 1959. That was the same season that Ernie Davis won the Heisman Trophy. Davis is the only Heisman winner at Syracuse, despite Jim Brown playing there as well. The Orange have played football since 1889. Syracuse is slated to jump from the Big East Conference to the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2013.

2012 Syracuse Orange Outlook

Syracuse is also a team on the move in the Big East, joining Pittsburgh in their move to the ACC. But for 2012, the Orange are not predicted to play much of a factor in the Big East Conference. But this is probably the most wide open conference in the BCS, simply because there are no national title contenders in the mix. No one team has separated themselves, thus making even some of the underdogs contenders.
