2012 USF Bulls Football Preview

As far as college football goes, the South Florida Bulls are one of the newest kids on the block. The first season of the program was in 1997, and since then, USF has turned into one of the teams on the rise in FBS. The Bulls actually began in Division II, before making the jump to Division 1 in 2001 as an Independent. South Florida joined Conference USA in 2003, but that relationship was short lived with a hop to the Big East in 2007. The Bulls have not yet won the Big East, but have reached as high as the No.2 national ranking. USF is located in Tampa, Florida, as the team plays in Raymond James Stadium, for which you NFL fans might recognize as the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The stadium seats 66,000. The Bulls are 4-2 in Bowl games in their history.

2012 South Florida Bulls Outlook

South Florida had a miserable 2011 Big East slate, tabbing just a 1-6 conference record. That will definitely not get it done for Skip Holtz's program in 2012. There are going to have to be some big improvements on both sides of the ball for the Bulls to contend in 2012. A tough out of conference schedule that includes Florida State and Miami certainly doesn't help.
