2012 Temple Owls Football Preview

The Temple Owls are playing in the Big East for the first time in football beginning in 2012. They are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Owls were a Big East member in Basketball, but were forced out of the conference due to poor attendance. But Temple is back in the Big East and ready to compete on a BCS level. The Owls play at Lincoln Financial Field, which is the home to the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, Temple is one of three schools to play on the same field as an NFL franchise. Temple's first season was back in 1894. The Owls captured the 2009 MAC conference championship, the only conference title in the history of the program.

2012 Temple Owls Outlook

Temple joins the Big East this season, and they certainly feel like it's a step up in class to a BCS conference, and they should. It was a good move for this program, coming from the MAC. But in their first season in the Big East, not much is expected from them, as they are right near the bottom of the list to contend.
