2012 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Preview
The Arizona State Sun Devils compete in the South Division of the Pacific 12 Conference. The first year of the Arizona State football program goes back to 1897. Located in Tempe, Arizona, the Sun Devils pay in Sun Devil Stadium. Sun Devil Stadium can fit a capacity crowd near 74,000. Arizona State has won 17 conference championships, but never a national title. The school has also never produced a Heisman Trophy winner in their history. They have been to 25 postseason bowl games, going 12-12-1 all time. The Sun Devils have a number of rivalry games, highlighted by the other school from inside the state in the Arizona Wildcats. The Sun Devils have yet to win the division since the conference split into two divisions.
2012 Arizona State Sun Devils Outlook
Not much is expected of Arizona State in 2012, after losing their quarterback Brock Osweiler to the NFL. The Sun Devils sit towards the bottom of the South division looking up on the preseason list of favorites. The 10th rank passing team in the nation will have to throw those stats out the window with a new signal caller.
