2012 UCLA Bruins Football Preview

The UCLA Bruins compete in the Pacific 12 South division in college football. The first season of UCLA football was back in 1919, which is relatively young by other major college football programs. The Bruins play in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, which can host close to 93,000 at capacity. UCLA has won 17 conference championships and one national title in their history. The school has also produced one Heisman Trophy winner. UCLA has a number of rivalry games, but that is perhaps highlighted by the USC Trojans, which is traditionally held near the end of the season. UCLA has been to 32 postseason bowl games in their history, tabbing a 15-16-1 record in those appearances.

2012 UCLA Bruins Outlook

The other team in Los Angeles is garnering all of the preseason hype, and you can bet that doesn't sit well with UCLA. But if they want to change that around (unlike the football monopoly busting program that Neuheisel proposed), the Bruins will need to go out and prove it on the field. They will get their shot at USC, but not until late in the year, and by that time we will probably have a good idea as to where UCLA stands on the season. The Bruins played in the Pac 12 title game last season, but only because the Trojans were not eligible... now it's time to do it for real.
