2012 USC Trojans Football Preview

The USC Trojans compete in the South division of the Pacific 12 conference. USC Football can be traced back 1888, with plenty of years of winning tradition in the program. Located in Los Angeles, California, the Trojans play in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which is one of the largest and most historic stadiums in the country. The stadium can host over 93,000 fans. USC is one of the most successful college football programs in history, winning 38 conference titles and 11 national championships. They have also had six Heisman Trophy winners. It would be seven, but the Heisman won by Reggie Bush in 2005 was later vacated. In total, the Trojans have been to 47 postseason bowl games, tabbing a 31-16 record. They have a number of rivalry games, including UCLA and Notre Dame.

2012 USC Trojans Outlook

The USC Trojans has the highest expectations of any team in the nation coming into 2012. Dubbed the National Championship favorites, it's really a BCS title or bust for Lane Kiffin's squad. But behind quarterback Matt Barkley, it's easy to see why things are looking great for USC this season. The Trojans finally get to play in a Bowl game and a potential Pac 12 championship game, which was the driving force behind Barkley coming back for his senior season. It should be a fun an exciting year for anyone rooting for the Trojans, with the November 3 showdown between Oregon circled on the calendar. The nation will definitely be tuned in for that one.
