2012 Cal Golden Bears Football Preview

The California Golden Bears compete in the North Division of the Pacific 12 conference. Cal football goes all the way back to 1886. Located in Berkeley, California, the Golden Bears play in California Memorial Stadium, which can host over 62,000 fans. Cal has a rich tradition of winning, that includes 14 conference championships to go along with five claimed national titles with the last coming back in 1937. They have never had a Heisman Trophy winner though. Cal has played in 21 postseason bowl games, tabbing a 10-10-1 record in them. The Golden Bears have several rivalry games, including Stanford, which many remember arguably the most famous play in college football history with the band coming out onto the field in 1982.

2012 Cal Golden Bears Outlook

The Cal Golden Bears finished with an above .500 record of 7-6 last season. Coming into the 2012 college football season, that is about how they are expected to finish once again, picked behind Oregon and Washington in the North Division of the Pac 12 conference. Unless they are full of surprises, we don't expect Cal to be playing for the Pac 12 championship this season as long as Oregon continues their reign.
