2012 Baylor Bears Football Preview

The Baylor Bears compete in the Big 12 conference in college football, but the program dates back to 1896. That is 100 years of football played before the Big 12 conference was even formed. So there is certainly some history and tradition when it comes to Baylor football. The Bears play at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas. The stadium can seat a capacity crowd of 50,000. During their history, Baylor has won six conference championships, but no national titles. Robert Griffin III is the school's only Heisman Trophy winner, coming in 2011. The Bears program has been to 18 bowl games in their history, with a 10-8 record. Located in Texas, there are a number of big rivalries for Baylor inside the Big 12, including Texas, and Texas Tech.

2012 Baylor Bears Outlook

The Baylor Bears will obviously look a lot different this season with the departure of Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Robert Griffin. And with Griffin's departure, so to do the hype and expectations for the Bears in the 2012 college football season. All of those great offensive stats don't really add up to much going into this season, as it's hard to predict how the Bears will come on in the Big 12 this year.
