2012 TCU Horned Frogs Football Preview

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs are new to the Big 12 conference, coming over after the 2011 season. TCU is located in Fort Worth, Texas and have been playing football since back in 1896. The Horned Frogs have been one of the top programs in college football over the last several seasons, but joining the Big 12 will certainly be a big test for the program to go to new heights that they have yet to see. TCU plays at Amon Carter Stadium, with a capacity crowd of just over 44,000. TCU has won two national championships, but were back in 1935 and 1938. In total, the Horned Frogs have been to 28 bowl games in their history. TCU has also produced one Heisman Trophy winner... Mr. Davey O'Brien, who has a trophy named after him currently in college football for the best quarterback in the country.

2012 TCU Horned Frogs Outlook

The TCU Horned Frogs finally made the step up to big time college football, getting into one of the BCS Conferences. It was a long time coming, and now college football will see if the Horned Frogs have what it takes to win week in and week out at a major level. Oddsmakers believe that it won't be a problem. The Horned Frogs are behind only Oklahoma and the Texas Longhorns on the odds to win the conference. That speaks volumes about what Gary Patterson has done with this program. And, it really makes sense for TCU to join the Big 12 as they are in the perfect location to do so, and with the wins they have put lately, don't be surprised if TCU is in contention for the conference crown late in the season.
