2012 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Preview
There might not be a better place to play football than at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers compete in the Legends Division in the Big Ten conference. Nebraska moved from the Big 12 to the Big Ten going into the 2011 college football season. But Nebraska football dates back to 1890, and since then they have become one of the winningest programs in history. The Cornhuskers have won 43 national championships and five national titles. They have played in 48 bowl games, tabbing a 24-24 mark through 2011. The program has also produced three Heisman Trophy winners. Nebraska plays in Memorial Stadium, Lincoln, which seat a capacity crowd over 81,000. The Cornhuskers have the longest consecutive streak of home sellouts in college football, so you know that these fans sure do love the Cornhuskers.
2012 Nebraska Cornhuskers Outlook
Quarterback Taylor Martinez and his unorthodox delivery will likely stand trial once again if and when Nebraska loses their first game of the season. The pass game is just not a strong suit for this offense. Fortunately, they are a very good running team, ranking 15th in the country in 2011. But there is certainly room for improvement across the board on both sides of the ball, as the Cornhuskers did not crack the top-40 on any other major categories.
