2012 Clemson Tigers Football Preview

The Clemson Tigers playing the ACC, and have been playing football since 1896. The Tigers have been a long time member of the ACC, winning their first conference title in 1956. The Tigers have won the ACC 14 times, the latest of which came during the 2011 season. Clemson plays in Memorial Stadium, also coined Death Valley, due to the noise and hostile trip for opposing teams. Memorial Stadium can hold over 80,000 people. The 1981 season for Clemson was the most successful in history, as the Tigers won their first and only national championship. But despite the rich history of winning, Clemson has still yet to have a Heisman Trophy winner.

2012 Clemson Tigers Outlook

The Tigers will try to repeat an Atlantic division title to go along with a second-straight ACC championship in 2012. Clemson returns the majority of their starters, in particular as key positions like Tajh Boyd at quarterback and wide receiver Sammy Watkins. These are two big time playmakers who can change the course of the game. In fact, Watkins may very well be the best wide receiver in the country. If the Clemson defense holds up, there is no reason why the Tigers won't be able to make yet another run at a conference crown.
