2012 Georgia Bulldogs Football Preview

There is definitely some rich tradition and a winning history in Athens Georgia, home of the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia and the SEC are a perfect fit for each other. The fan base is passionate and the teams produce wins. Georgia plays in Sanford Stadium, which is one of the largest stadiums in the country at close to 93,000. Georgia football first started back in 1892, with Sanford Stadium being constructed in 1929. The Bulldogs have won 12 SEC titles, and two national championships in their history. The school has produced two Heisman Trophy winners. Georgia has a number of great rivalry games in the SEC, beginning with the Cocktail party in Jacksonville against Florida. Then there is also the Deep South's oldest rivalry with Auburn, and the in-state clean old fashioned hate showdown with Georgia Tech. It doesn't get much better when it comes to Georgia football.

2012 Georgia Bulldogs Outlook

The Georgia Bulldogs are the defending SEC East champions, and come into the season with high expectations. The Bulldogs are a preseason top-10 favorite for the national championship, as Mark Richt begins his 12th season in Athens. Problems with suspensions to starters on defense early in the season could be a problem, as will the dismissal of running back Isaiah Crowell. But Bulldogs' quarterback Aaron Murray is one of the best in the country, and Georgia is loaded with talent all over the ball. The offensive line will be a question during the season, but an easy SEC schedule definitely helps things out. Georgia is favored to repeat their East title and reach Atlanta, and perhaps contend for the national title.
