2012 Vanderbilt Commodores Football Preview

The Vanderbilt Commodores compete in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern conference. The Commodores first season in football was back in 1890. They have been a member of the SEC since 1932, but in that time have never won a conference championship in the SEC. They do have 13 conference titles prior to joining the SEC. The program does not have a national championship. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the Commodores play in Dudley Field, with can host 40,000 fans and is one of the smallest stadiums in the SEC. Vanderbilt does not have a winning tradition in the program, but see to be trying to turn that around, reaching a bowl game in two of their last three seasons. They have played in just five bowl games in their history.

2012 Vanderbilt Commodores Outlook

The Vanderbilt commodores had a successful season by their standards last season, making a Bowl game appearance. But Vanderbilt is not known to be a big contender for the SEC East division, and that is expected to remain the same for the 2012 college football season. The Commodores are picked last in the Eastern Division along with Kentucky.
